How To Get Brand Love (Part 2)!

Now that you’ve figured out who you’re targeting with your brand, it’s time to align your visuals to their style and get some of that brand love going!

Look through your list of their favorite brands and compare them to yours. Take a blank sheet of paper and draw a line down the middle. On one side you’ll jot down similarities while the other side is for the differences.

Don’t have visuals set up? Write down all the aesthetics you can see in your ideal client’s favorite brands and go-to businesses.

Ask yourself a few questions like:

1. What is difference between my brand and theirs? Is it feminine and bright while mine is neutral with masculine textures?

2. Are the other brands light and elegant or fun and childlike?

3. Do the other businesses connect mainly with images or do they write long blog articles?

These questions are important because they’ll point out where your brand needs a bit of sprucing up. Continue noting the differences between your visuals and those of your ideal client’s favorite brands.

Do you see any recurring themes? For example: You might be targeting high-end clients and notice that your site is cluttered and overloaded while the other businesses use clean lines, fonts, and only a few colors.

The goal here is to use visuals that will emotionally connect with your ideal client. You have to give them a reason to follow you.

Here comes the hard part for those that already had a brand:

Do you need a complete rebrand or just a few edits? Depending on where you stand, it might be easier to get help in recreating your visuals to better match your target audience.

If you don’t currently have a brand, then you’ve got a clean slate to start with.

Either way, you’re on your way to bettering your business and attracting the clients you truly want to work with.

Keep in mind that, brand love won’t happen overnight but investing in getting the focus right and making the right decisions will definitely get you on the path to embodying the vision you have.
